The Huawei E585 wireless modem sends out a Wi-Fi signal to give you internet connection whenever you need it. With your own mobile Wi-Fi connection (known as Mifi) so you can connect different Wi-Fi enabled devices at once and get fast internet speeds with no wires, no hassles and no need for a Wi-Fi hotspot.
The E585 is really easy to use and fits in your pocket. Just turn on your wireless modem, connect to a mobile network, and select the Wi-Fi function. Then connect the Wi-Fi on whichever device you’re using. There’s no need to load any software to get online using the Huawei E585. The wireless modem gives you download speeds of up to 7.2Mbps (megabits per second) (dependant on network speed, location and signal strength) and comes with a battery that lets you stay connected to the internet for up to 7 hours.
The E585 also comes with onboard software in the form of a web admin. The software allows you to send and receive text messages and change settings for your Wi-Fi connection. The E585 is better and faster than the previous E5830 and offers new features such as one button connect, OLED Screen, Longer battery life. The screen will show you the battery status, connection speed (HSPDA, 3G, EDGE, GPRS) and even the amount of data you have used.
As this device is unlocked you can use it on any network, comes with a free sim card but you don’t have to use it. The device will remain unlocked forever even if you update it!

At MifiClub we rent out mifi devices to international travellers who want internet access anywhere so we’ve experimented with mifi devices from novatel, netcomm, and huawei. The best value for money is definitely huawei and it’s what we use.
Our customers love the display screen which tells them how much data they’ve used, how much battery is left, and how long they’ve been online. It’s light weight. Speed is very fast. The firmware is customisable to allow you to have more than 5 devices connect to its wifi.
The only downside is battery life only which lasts about 4 hours of use.
I love how these now use micro USB. So you can charge it with blackberry chargers.
It beats the others in terms of screen display. It’s on par in performance. It edges them out in price. So we highly recommend this.
Until someone puts out a better one.

fantastic bit of kit
so much easier to use than the previous model. this is literally one touch power on and then it connects to what is available, suffice to say you need to setup the relevant details from its inbuilt web interface, but is so much easier to use and to read thanks to the detail text screen as opposed to coloured icons this time round, shows you live update of that sessions usage.
highy recommended for its portability, can now be charged off a usb port and used simultaneously also
very configurable interface for security and other pertinent settings, having owned the previous version, i would buy this solely for the new features even if i was getting along ok with the previous model.
seel your old one and get this, you can pick these up for under £40!

I bought one of these as a temporary measure when my Virgin broadband connection and my family was going bonkers about having no internet connection.
It was easy to set up and works extremely well. I like the OLED display and the web interface is easy to use and reasonably fully featured. The signal I get on the 3 network is excellent despite living in a fairly small town and the E585 has served me very well both at home and on the road.
All in all, I am very pleased with mine and I would recommend it.
