I bought this for my Christmas Kindle. I ordered on Sunday night late and received it on Thursday.
It feels well and “does exactly what it says on the tin.”
One point to note – they have now added a little velcro strap on the top so there is no longer any danger of the kindle falling out. This is not shown in the photos.
The clasp at the side is a bit “in the way” at times. I am not sure its necessary.
I can’t see myself using the pen holder or the flap for papers. Overall, the feel of the case is good in the hand.
I noticed no interference with the 5-way controller.
It makes a surprising difference to the kindle, I think, because it covers most of the white plastic. It makes it feel like reading a paper book. It was the first thing my OH commented on – she is not in favour of ereaders but thought the case made it much better.
Overall I give it four, taking a point off for the side strap.

I ordered this case after reading all the good reviews of it. I was first planning to carry my Kindle around in a Netbook sleeve but it never fit right and gave no protection while reading.
The Tuff-Luv case is made of very soft leather, it also feels like it’s padded with some very soft material. The actual Kindle compartment is made of harder leather, which makes it easy to insert the Kindle. As others have said, there is now a small strap at the top to prevent it from falling out (although it had a magnetic lock on mine, not velcro as others have said).
The strap at the side (for keeping it closed) also has a magnetic this time with a physical button to hold it a bit firmer. It never flipped open by itself during normal use. It’s a bit hard to close because the top flap is slightly too large so you have to hold it back a bit to close the magnetic lock in exactly the right place, otherwise it won’t hold. This is because I don’t carry a pen inside the case, if you do then it fits perfecty. I don’t want to carry a pen around, however, because I’m afraid people I show it to think it’s a stylus and try to use it on the Kindle screen
I wish they’d just left that pen holder out because it makes no sense for the Kindle anyway. It would make the case close easier and be less sloppy.
I’d also appreciate it if the front was made of harder material, so it wouldn’t bend under pressure (and possibly crack the Kindle screen). I didn’t try this but it’s not as rigid as I hoped.
However these are only minor negative points, and in general I’m really happy with the case. It does also improve the perceived contrast of the screen by surrounding it in black, as others have said. I don’t find the place of the sidestrap uncomfortable, it doesn’t bother me at all. I usually fold the front panel all the way to the back and then hold it with my left hand, so it’s not in the way then.

I purchased this in ‘rouge’ (red basically) and it’s gorgeous. It fits my Kindle 2 perfectly and it’s really soft leather – if anyone has a Kindle 2 then get this cover – you won’t be disappointed.

Cover is very nicely made and looks nice but I had a few major gripes about it.
1) The cutouts in the front are too close to the 5-way toggle key and interfered with pushing it left.
2) The Kindle slides in from the top, but it is too loose a fit. If you are carrying it like a book in one hand and tip it slightly upside down, the Kindle just falls out of the cover onto the floor. There is nothing holding it in place.
I ended up tossing it and buying the Leather cover item B001JAH7OM from Amazon USA, which is both cheaper and a better design. It has clips to lock the Kindle securely in place and the full front of the Kindle is exposed when you open the cover like a book. Also very small, neat and tidy appearance.

I bought this for my Kindle, and I have been using it for the last 2 weeks.
It feels like real leather, except for the smell.. which in the beginning was quite like “plastic”.
Mine has a strap in the top, so Kindle is really secure and cannot fall.
It is not heavy, and quite easy to use. As another positive side, it makes the Kindle quite discrete. This is great for the public transports.. before I had to explain what is a kindle almost every way to work!
I would definitely recommend this case for any Kindle user
