Battery poor but can be improved, 13 Jun 2011
This review is from: Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 Sim Free Mobile Phone – Grey (Electronics)

Functionally this is a good phone. No instructions though. The big downside is battery life: I see figures that indicate a life of 450 hrs. I only get 30 hrs max with the WiFi off. Awful. Trying to switch to only 2G use so I will let you all know later. Big fan of previous Samsung products, TV for example, this was a let down.

I have now changed the phone to 2G after reading some advice on an obscure Malaysian tech site. For 2G it looks like my phone will keep its charge for about 8-10 days. This is what you do: go to Settings/Wireless and Networks/Mobile Networks/Use only 2G networks/ and tick this. 3G battery life is still poor though. I have upgraded my rating to three star, it should really be 3.5 stars since it was a reasonable price and I really like the Android interface.

I had got a Samsung Galaxy Apollo, thought I was getting a deal. Froze and crashed too often. Got the S5570 as an exchange. Good quality You Tube videos, lots of Android apps to choose from. On Android 2.2. If you’re on budget, it’s a great alternative to Apple. Also, you don’t have to spend more than £150 to enjoy the benefits of Android. If you’re getting a phone, get it Sim Free, Factory Unlocked, don’t buy Prepaid phones from any network as the software they use messes the phones. Overall very good, finally found what I was looking for!
