Clearly the official Amazon covers are not worth the premium. So which alternative to go for? I can speak only for the Duragadget. I have been using it for nearly a month and am very pleased. The case is attractive, tough and gives very good protection for the Kindle when carrying it around in an overloaded bag. All controls are totally accessible. The Kindle will never drop out of the case as there are no elastic grips securing it, unlike some other products on the market. Despite the added weight you can still comfortably hold the covered device in one hand. However I have come to really appreciate the stand. This gives you the alternative of reading hands free. The in-car charger is an added bonus at the price. In conclusion I would recommend this excellent product.

I can’t recommend this cover enough. We’ve bought a couple of others and not liked them but this is spot-on. It fits like a glove but keeps all controls accessible. The magnetic catch works both to keep the cover tightly closed and to “latch” the cover out of the way when using the Kindle. The stand feature works a treat to hold the kindle in a good position to read whilst munching on the morning toast :-)
If you’re looking for a cover, buy this one!

I am really pleased with this phone. I’ve had the HTC Hero, and Wildfire, and this is just great, I loved the HTC hero because you could have the old style phone key pad to write texts with predictive text, and this sony allows that too, or turn it side ways and you can have the qwerty keyboard.

Everything is simple on this phone, its easy to add shortcuts, and simple to navigate. The screen colours are very slick, HD camera is amazing. This phone takes amazing pictures, and the zoom is silly on this, goes on forever.

I have the Gold back version, its not bling, just quite subtle, the phone is not massive, its no Iphone in terms of the width, it’s just slightly bigger than a normal phone, but with the screen so clear and being able to zoom in on web pages there is no need to hold a huge phone, or carry some of these silly sized smart phones.

Xperia Ray – Just Right, 15 Oct 2011

xperia ray – just the right size just the right weight, i had an xperia mini before this and found it too small and other mobiles iv found to be just too big. to me this is just right.
The 8mp camera with face detection takes great pictures and video clips. The camera has a good zoom but there is no zoom in video mode. The camera does not have a flash the led on the back is used as a light in both picture taking and video shooting. The camera works really well in low light conditions and only in really dark situations will you need to put the light on to take a picture or video. (makes for a handy torch)
Battery life is good, id say over average but not amazing and charging back up is fairly quick.
The only thing missing for me is sms inbox, all sms messages are in conversation view (threaded) i miss not having the good old inbox view although im getting used to the chatroom style messaging.
im no expert on touch screens, the xperia rays works a treat responsive without been too sensitive. A Good all round mobile i dont think anyone would be disappointed with.

UPDATE, A recent software update has now enabled 16x zooming while videoing, also sweep panorama mode for extra wide picture taking. It just gets better and better :-)
